We are pleased with the results of the recent upgrades to our home undertaken by Dave Ritchie. Urban Coast Renovations undertook the planning, gutting, re-arranging, and finishing of three bathrooms plus extensive tile work and interior painting in other rooms. Dave's trades are truly professional. We are in the planning stages for another project for Urban Coast in the near future.

Dave Ritchie of Urban Coast Renovations acted as a coordinator of tradesmen on a project to place an attractive and functional cover on a part of our deck.  The deck is elevated one floor above a walk out basement and we wanted a combination of cover but still wanted to enjoy full sun.  We imagined a glass cover that was well engineered for snow-load and cosmetic appeal.  Our problem was the weight that this would add to the deck itself.

 

We knew we needed some professional help.  An electrical tradesman we hired to do some re-wiring had recommended Dave for future projects.  He already had a good reputation.  We contacted him to get involved and after some discussion Dave provided us with a quote for what we told him we wanted.  It was just too much money.  So we described our dream to Dave and asked for ideas.  Dave took our thoughts and came back with the idea of installing a louvered aluminum deck cover.  I had never heard of anything like it but once we researched we realized it was exactly what we needed.

 

We engaged Dave to coordinate installation.  Dave's services came with a cost, but on the very first visit with the louvered roof supplier Dave was suggesting some innovative design ideas that added to the finished appearance and function of the cover.  Dave also recognized what needed to be added to the deck in order to bolster the structural supports where needed.  It was clear he was going to add value.

 

In the end, Dave's involvement provided some unique cosmetic elements to the installation we would not have seen without him.  He also spotted and installed the structural support required, as well as supervising the installers and chasing them down for one small deficiency I spotted and wanted completed.  I was very happy to have him involved as I am a busy person and I have little time to dote over home improvement projects.  However, I do want professional, high-quality completion when I get something done.

 

Dave will provide assurance that a job is done well and brings independent ideas of his own to improve a project outcome.  I trust Dave to source high-quality, responsible tradesmen and I will use him again for my next big project when it arrives.  His input is worth the cost.

Dave Ritchie of Urban Construction Renovations managed my 1,200 square foot condo renovations. Working together, Dave executed a plan to revitalize this dated twenty-six year old condo into an amazing home.

We hired Dave Ritchie of Urban Coast Renovations to complete two projects for us, and we would not hesitate to use him again. The first project was renovating our upstairs bathrooms. Dave took our tired, 1970’s bathrooms down to the studs, added a shower to our ensuite and rebuilt two, gorgeous modern rooms. He was readily available to answer any questions and give us updates, and was a very straightforward communicator.

The second project was an unplanned insurance issue in our basement. In this case, it was a very stressful time for us, and knowing Dave and his team were on it was very comforting.  We really appreciated having someone we could trust take this project on.
